Mens Teams
During the summer we enter teams into the Prudden Road Surfacing League (South Warwickshire Summer League Rules). This comprises 5 divisions containing either 8 or 6 teams. Each team consists of two pairs and both pairs play each opposing pair (4 rubbers in total). A rubber is the best of 3 sets. All teams play each other both home and away. Fixtures are generally midweek commencing at 6.30 p.m. Stratford currently has 2 teams competing in the Premier division and one team in division two. The Stratford A team has a long tradition of success in the top division.
The club also enters teams in the National Club League and the Coventry League.
During the winter the club enters teams in the Stratford and District Winter League. This is organised on a similar basis to the summer league but comprises 7 divisions. Last winter Stratford had 2 teams in both Division 1 and Division 5. Our top team won Division 1.
Both leagues operate with a system for both promotion and relegation between the divisions
Ladies teams
In the summer, Stratford has three ladies teams representing the club:
A team plays in Division 2 in the Coventry & District League
B team plays in Division 1 of the Evesham League
C team plays in Division 3 of the Evesham League
In the winter, there are four ladies teams, all playing in the Stratford & District Ladies Winter League
A team in Division 1
B team in Division 2
C team in Division 4
D team in Division 5
Each team has its own individual captain who is responsible for selecting players for the matches. Players are selected for the various teams based on their ability and anyone expressing an interest in playing competitive tennis will find Stratford has a team which plays at the appropriate standard.
